DELAWARE STATE FAIR CONTINUES IMPROVEMENTS

HARRINGTON, DE - June 8, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Since the first Delaware State Fair in 1920, the event has made the promise of being "bigger and better" each year. This year is no exception. When the Delaware State Fair opens on July 21, concertgoers will notice major improvements in the Wilmington Trust Grandstand.

Last year began a three-phase renovation project for the venue which had not seen major renovations since 1955. Phase one and two included adding netting to sheild birds from entering overhead and painting the walls/ceiling with a product to improve the acoustics--great for patrons watching concerts in the Grandstand. Recently, the Fair contracted Alto Seating Systems LLC, a corporation from England, to complete the third phase of renovations. The improvements made by Alto include installing stadium-style seats and adding special railing and lighting fixtures--all of which are in an effort to meet American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

According to Fair spokesperson, Tricia Southard, "This is just one more step to making the Fair more enjoyable and comfortable for all patrons." Southard also offered a reminder that tickets to many of the shows in the Wilmington Trust Grandstand are still available for purchase. To reserve your tickets, logon to the Delaware State Fair website or call 866-DEL-FAIR and catch "A Taste of America" at the 2005 Delaware State Fair.###
