2007 Delaware State Fair Exhibitor Registration Continues

Vying for the coveted blue ribbon at the state fair has been a time-honored American tradition for eighty eight years.  This year is no exception as hundreds of people have already submitted their entries for the 2007 Delaware State Fair, July 19 – 28 at Harrington.

According to Jill Baylis, manager of the Fair’s premium entry department, “Interest is strong this year, with entries coming in through our online registration process at a faster pace than last year.”  Baylis added, “Normally we have an influx of last-minute entries which we fully expect again this year.  No matter what the pace has been leading up to the deadline we always have an increased volume of entries at the deadline.”

For a complete listing of the kinds of entries for which the Fair awards ribbons along with a small cash award, check the Fairs’ website.  Perhaps that photograph you shot last year of the kids at the beach, or the afghan you crocheted as a gift to someone special, or the cookies you bake that get devoured in a flash are great enough to be awarded the Fair’s 1^st place blue ribbon.

Fair officials continue to address a portion of the population that may not have access to the internet.  New for 2007 is a limited number of hardcopies of the exhibitor handbook that are now available at the Fair’s Administrative Office.  Fair Officials continue to encourage potential exhibitors to visit their public library, where a master copy of the exhibitor handbook can be found at the front desk.

According to Danny Aguilar, Marketing and Public Relations Director of the Fair, “We really focused on covering all bases this year when it came to reaching out to individuals without a computer.   Our exhibitors play an important role in making our Fair a success, so making this year’s information available in multiple forms was a top priority.”

All exhibitors to the Delaware State Fair are urged to submit their entries before the deadline date of June 15, 2007.  All entries may be submitted by visiting the Fair’s website at www.delawarestatefair.com and clicking on “Exhibitor Registration”.
