NOMINATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE
2008
ALL-STAR YOUTH OF THE DAY
MISSION STATEMENT
The All-Star Youth of-the-Day program was established by the Delaware State Fair to honor ten young people for their remarkable accomplishments in one of the following areas: volunteer service to the community; heroic deeds; exceptional scholastic achievement; outstanding athletic accomplishment; or exhibiting a healthy lifestyle identified by the Nemours’ 5-2-1 Almost None initiative.
Help the Delaware State Fair select ten of its finest young people to participate in a program created as a way to showcase outstanding attributes of Delaware youth.
Each day of the fair, July 17 – July 26, we will feature a young person who has demonstrated, through words and actions, our mission statement as shown above.
Recipients designated as an All-Star Youth of the Day will, along with their entire family, receive guest passes to the fair on a designated day. The All-Star Youth will be guests of the Wade Shows carnival with free ride coupons. A cash award of $75.00 and a beautiful plaque commemorating the occasion will be given to each. The royal treatment will also include a ride along the fair’s nightly parade route in a horse-drawn carriage!
We encourage you to nominate someone to be one of our 2008 All-Star Youth of the Day. Simply mail a letter telling us why you feel your nominee should be named All-Star Youth of the Day.
