DELAWARE STATE FAIR SALUTES SPONSORS

HARRINGTON, DE - July 19, 2005
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Since its inception in 1919, the Delaware State Fair has offered the promise of being "Bigger and Better Than Ever" the next year. That promise is upheld each year as improvements are made to the fairgrounds, top names in entertainment don the stage, and amenities are added to enhance the overall experience. And this year is no exception.
According to the fair's marketing and public relations director, Tricia Southard, "I'm excited for our guests to visit this year. With improvements to roadways, sidewalks and landscaping; new attractions like Sea Lion Splash, Sinbad High Dive Show and The Living Garden with human statues from Unity Productions; and names like Larry the Cable Guy, Toby Keith and Hoobastank in the Wilmington Trust Grandstand, this is sure to be a stellar year."
Southard notes, however, this all comes with a rather hefty price tag, and as a not-for-profit organization, the fair relies on the support of sponsors to underwrite a portion of the cost. The Fair has appreciated receiving long-time support from organizations such as Wilmington Trust Company for which the Grandstand is named, Delaware Electric Cooperative in support of the FREE Entertainment Tent, Comcast for Kids' World, Hardee's and Happy Harry's for their discount carnival ride days, Delaware Lottery, Pepsi, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and many more. The Fair also welcomes new sponsors to the 2005 Fair, including: Chevrolet; RAPA; All-Span, Inc.; and Mike's Famous Harley-Davidson. According to Southard, Chevrolet will be utlizing the Fairgrounds for displaying its line of vehicles including a "first glimpse" at the soon to be released Chevrolet HHR the Cobalt SS Supercharged, Trailblazer EXT, Silverado Duramax Diesel, Colorado Z71, Corvette, and Impala SS; offering an inflatable "fun run" attraction and giving away one of the Chevrolet HHRs on the final day of the Fair. RAPA will, of course, be offering it's famous scrapple sandwiches…a local favorite. Others will simply enjoy the sights and information offerings of other sponsors.
