Year after year, the Delaware State Fair has upheld a promise made at its inception of being "Bigger and Better than Ever", and this year is no exception. As groundbreaking ceremonies are scheduled for improvements to the west side of the fairgrounds and as the top-names in entertainment hit the Wilmington Trust Grandstand stage, it is obvious the Fair is keeping its promise.

According to the Fair's marketing and public relations director, Tricia Southard, "Once again, I am excited for our guests to visit us this year. With the most recent roadway improvements; investments in The Centre Ice Rink—also home to the 4-H and FFA organizations; new attractions such as Marcan Tigers of India, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Granpa Cratchet, and The Terry Fator Show; and big names like Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, and Brad Paisley performing in the Wilmington Trust Grandstand, this is sure to be a stellar year."

Southard pointed out that all of these improvements/additions come with a rather hefty price tag, and as a not-for-profit organization, the Fair relies on the support of sponsors to underwrite a portion of the cost. The Fair has appreciated receiving long-time support from organizations such as Wilmington Trust Company for which the Grandstand is named, Delaware Lottery in support of the Foreigner/Peter Frampton show, Pepsi in support of the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show, Delaware Electric Cooperative in support of the FREE Entertainment Tent, Comcast for Kids' World, Hardee's and Happy Harry's for their discount carnival ride days, Grotto Pizza for its support of the Monster Truck Show, Manlove Auto Parts for supporting the Demolition Derbies, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in support of the All-Star Youth of the Day Program, Discover Bank in support of Hypnomania! with Travis Fox, PNC Bank in support of Vocal Trash, Delaware Department of Agriculture in support of the Livestock Extravaganza, Delaware State Grange in support of the Birthing Center, MidAtlantic Farm Credit in support of various equine events, Blue Cross Blue Shield in support of Governor’s Day events, Harrington Raceway’s Midway Slots in support of the PRCA rodeos, Kitchen Craft, All-Span Inc., Service Today Inc., RAPA, Delmarva Power, and Atlantic Aluminum.
