DELAWARE STATE FAIR HONORED AT INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

HARRINGTON, DE - December 14, 2006

During the recently held International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Delaware State Fair won the Promotional Advertising, Outdoor category of the 2006 IAFE Hall of Honor Communications Awards, sponsored by K&K Insurance.

On-hand to receive the award was Tricia Southard, the Fair’s public relations and marketing director; Dennis Hazzard, general manager; and Louise Rathfon, director of administrative services. According to Southard, the Delaware State Fair, along with member fairs from across the globe, submitted various items from their advertising campaigns to be considered in the IAFE contest.

Southard stated, “We were very surprised and delighted to have received the first place award in recognition of our outdoor advertising campaign. Since coming on board with the Fair, we’ve been working to achieve this level of recognition, and we consider this a milestone.” Southard added that all of the winning entries were displayed for attending fair representatives to review. “We were competing against hundreds of creative geniuses,” said Southard, “We definitely took a lot of notes.”
