HARRINGTON, DE - October 11, 2004
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The state fair has often been considered one of the best representations of Americana, representing the culture and traditions of our nation. To some, this may mean savoring a fresh apple pie, fried chicken, or hot dogs to others it may be spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Regardless of whether it is defined through sights, sounds, feelings, or flavors, "America" can be experienced during the ten-day run of the Delaware State Fair at Harrington. In recognition of the traditional values associated with it our country, fair officials have themed the 2005 event “A Taste of America”.
According to the fair’s public relations and marketing director, Tricia Southard, “'A Taste of America' will include so much more than a show of patriotism. The theme reflects the culture of America’s past and present in music, history, and wholesome entertainment. The fair represents what is good in our country...pride, friendly folks, laughter, adventure, and family. We are truly excited about the possibilities with this year’s theme."
The dates for the 2005 event are July 21 - 30. Southard added that the Delaware State Fair announces its theme and dates in the fall primarily so exhibitors may begin to prepare their entries for the upcoming fair and to serve as a reminder to those who plan their vacations around fair time.
