Amber & Ashely Broughton - Milton, DE
Amber and Ashley Broughton are 13 and 15. Amber is an eighth grader at Sussex Central Middle School where she mentors a mentally challenged classmate. Amber has also been determined to play sports in spite of medical conditions. Ashley is a freshman at Sussex Central High School. She has won numerous writing contests, volunteers in the community and will be participating in the Junior Statesman Summer School at a prominent college of her choice. Ashley's goal in life is to become a civil rights attorney.

Brian Fredrickson - Frederica, DE
Brian Fredrickson, 18, is a recent graduate of Lake Forest High School where he ran cross country since the 8th grade. He rarely missed practice and qualified for the conference track meet 3200 meter race in the spring. What's so amazing about Brian is that he persevered to run track even though he can only see a few feet ahead due to a medical condition.

Devin Middleton - Frankford, DE
Devin Middleton, 17, is an 11th grader at Sussex Technical High School. He has maintained a positive spirit and honor roll grades in spite of health issues. Devin plans to become a doctor so that he can help others who have suffered similar health hardships.

Brenda Baynard - Wilmington, DE
Christina Clouse - Claymont, DE
Friends Brenda Baynard, 14 and Christina Clouse, 15, are both students at the First State School. Brenda, an 8th grader and Christina, a 9th grader, showed initiative, leadership and dedication to their fellow students by organizing "Kick Butt Day", which provided a positive message about not smoking.

Emmanuel Jenkins - Seaford
Emmanuel Jenkins, 19, is a recent graduate of Seaford Senior High School. The reason Mann stands out of the crowd is not because of his wheelchair, but what he has done in spite of his disability. He has a "can do" attitude and has demonstrated that spirit by volunteering over 1500 hours at the Boys & Girls Club. He is a mentor and role model for many students at the club.

Andrew "Andy" Bell - Seaford, DE
Andy Bell, 12, is a 6th grader at the Sussex Academy for Arts & Sciences in Georgetown. He was named the middle school-level state winner of the Prudential Spirit of Community award for his outstanding act of volunteerism. Andy collected 213 pairs of shoes to be distributed to needy orphans throughout the world, known as "Shoes for Orphan Souls."

Tyler Whaley - Seaford, DE
Zachary Cannon - Seaford, DE
Friends Tyler Whaley and Zachary Cannon, both 8, are in the 3rd grade at West Seaford Elementary and organized a project entitled "Giving Back to Our Soldiers in Iraq". Tyler and Zachary collected 668 donated toiletry items that were sent to our Delaware soldiers.

Sean Hafer - Laurel, DE
Sean Hafer, 18, is a senior at Laurel High School. Sean's spirit, optimism and compassion shine through as he mentors special education students while facing his own personal adversity.

Lyle Neal - Bridgeville, DE
Lyle Neal, 18, is a recent graduate of Woodbridge High School. Not only is Lyle active in 4-H, F.F.A. and track, he is also a multi-award winner in the Marine Corps ROTC program. He was recognized with the American Legion Bronze Medal for Scholastic Excellence, the Bronze Medal for Military Excellence, Outstanding Cadet Award, Civic Service Award, Physical Achievement Award, Distinguished Conduct Award, and the Rifle Team Award.

Justina Mason - Clayton, DE
Justina Mason, 19, is a recent graduate of Polytech High School where she participated in the Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and the Air Force JROTC Program. She not only excelled scholastically, Justina also has extraordinary school attendance, only missing 3 days in 13 years. Justina was 5th in her class, acted as Lt. Col. of the JROTC, was President of Student Government, was Secretary for the National Honor Society, and received the Outstanding Senior Award for Aviation through JROTC. Justina was awarded the DAR medal, and 21 ribbons for Outstanding Meritorious Efforts.
