The Fair welcomes and appreciates new public health guidance from the DE Department of Public Health and the CDC releasing fully vaccinated individuals from face covering and social distancing restrictions. Attending any of this year’s shows in the M&T Bank Grandstand just got a heck of a lot more enjoyable.
Since ticket sales began last December for the 2021 M&T Bank Grandstand entertainment lineup, Fair organizers have been challenged with booking shows at times when we faced general prohibitions for large outdoor gatherings, face covering requirements, the imposition of 6’ social distancing criteria, the loosening to 3’ social distancing criteria and finally to where we are now.
Early in 2021, in an effort to get tickets and seat locations into the hands of ticket buying fans, the Fair had to take to take a series of steps aimed at complying with then-current but regularly evolving public health guidance. Unique to the 2021 M&T Bank Grandstand lineup seating charts, we had to eliminate the “pit” and inside clubhouse seating areas. Additionally, seating on the track can only be purchased in pods of 4 seats and stadium and grandstand seats are available in denominations of 2, 4 or 6 seats which have been grouped by our box office ahead of time.
With Fair right around the corner, our 2021 seating plans and ticket offerings cannot be adjusted back to pre-pandemic standards that we all are so familiar with. We apologize in advance if we have disappointed anyone with this decision.
To lure you and your family back to the Delaware State Fair, we have planned a free concert on opening night, Thursday July 22nd at 7:00PM featuring Kristin and The Noise, the Funsters and Club Phred. No need for tickets, free show admission and please enter by way of the track seats’ entry gate next to the Delaware Farm Bureau booth.
Rest assured, when you arrive on the fairgrounds this July, you will be greeted by our fairgrounds teeming with livestock, competitive exhibits, a full-fledged carnival with loads of kiddie and adult rides, over a hundred food, drink and dessert vendors and commercial vendors selling everything from tractors to jewelry.
